Get your boots on, gather the family and enjoy a walk over the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct during the festive period, prior a temporary closure in the new year.
From Tuesday 2nd January 2024, the aqueduct will be closed to boats, and the towpath will also be closed to pedestrians. Both Aqueduct and towpath will re-open on Saturday 16th March 2024. This is due to the aqueduct being dewatered (the water being pumped away) for a periodic inspection. Of course, there will still be plenty of the beautiful 11 mile stretch to explore in Chirk, Llangollen and the Horseshoe Falls.
