The Station was opened in 1865 as part of the Llangollen Corwen Railway and became part of the Great Western Railway. The tunnel underneath the station has remnants of pencil graffiti left by First World War soldiers waiting at the station to be taken to the Front. It was renamed Berwyn Halt in 1954 and was closed to passengers in 1965 and reopened in 1996 as part of the Llangollen Heritage Railway.
